From October 12 to 18 the Vamos Poker Tour lands for the first time at Gran Casino Murcia, inside the Odiseo complex, with €250,000 GTD spread across 6 tournaments. And alongside the €350 Main Event, the €700 High Roller and the €175 Opening, the promotion that turned Troia into a gang war is back: the VPT Squad Battle.

The idea is as simple as it is addictive. You get your crew together, every cash any one of you makes goes onto the same scoreboard, and at the end of the week the squad with the most points goes to the next festival. All of them. Paid.

How the Squad Battle works

The rules fit in one paragraph, and that’s exactly the point:

• Squads of 4 players: one captain plus three members. Three is enough to compete.
• Registration is 100% free. No fee, no extra buy-in, no small print.
• You score by cashing. Same formula as the MVP Ranking: every time a squad member finishes ITM in a VPT Murcia 2026 tournament, those points go to the team’s total.
• The captain scores ×1.20. Every point they earn is multiplied, so picking a captain is a strategic call, not a courtesy.
• One player, one squad. Nobody plays for two teams, and the squad name has to be unique — and respectful.

Registration: VPT App only

This time, signing up happens exclusively in the official VPT App. Here’s how it works:

• The captain registers the whole squad from the app.
• All four players must already have a VPT App account with their VPT ID before the captain can add them — the app verifies every VPT ID is real before the squad is confirmed.
• Deadline: Tuesday, October 13 at 18:00 (Madrid time). Not a minute later.

In practical terms: if your mate still hasn’t downloaded the app, tell him today. Getting the app and creating an account is free and takes a minute — but at 18:01 on the 13th there is nothing left to do.

The prize: a trip to Bulgaria with your crew

The squad leading the standings when the festival closes wins a €3,000 ADDED package for VPT Sofia 2026, November 2–8.

The package includes:

• 2 rooms at the 5★ Grand Millennium Sofia
• 5 nights · breakfast and dinner included
• 4× €350 buy-ins for the Vamos Main Event
• Airport shuttle included
• VPT merchandise pack

In other words: you sleep, you eat and you play the Main Event. The whole team. For doing in Murcia exactly what you were going to do anyway.

What happened in Troia (and why you should take this seriously)

The format’s debut this year at VPT Troia drew 18 squads, and the finish was a masterclass in why it works.

“Lo que quieras quiero” took it with 599.54 points, almost a hundred clear of second place. Captained by Francisco Javier Dopazo Paz — the festival’s individual runner-up — and completed by Jorge Rodríguez Suanzes, Jorge García Galiani and Miguel Verán Abeijón, the recipe was the usual one: four players cashing, no weak link, and the captain’s multiplier doing the rest.

Behind them came the cruellest twist of the week. “Los de dentro del caballo” was captained by none other than festival MVP Reger Antonio Muñoz, with Main Event champion Pablo Lario Hernández on the roster — and still finished second on 506.07 points. Having the two stars of the festival wasn’t enough. “EV Hunters”, captained by Juan Revuelta Marchena, completed the podium with 429.12.

The lesson for Murcia is clear: the Squad Battle isn’t won by the team with the best player. It’s won by the team that cashes the most times.

How to register your squad, step by step

1. Download the VPT App — all four of you — and make sure you have your VPT ID.
2. Pick your crew: 4 players (minimum 3 to compete).
3. Choose your captain. Hint: the one playing the most tournaments and running the best, not the one doing the most talking.
4. Name the team (unique and presentable).
5. The captain registers the squad in the app before Tuesday, October 13 at 18:00.

Throughout the festival you can follow the live Squad Battle standings in the app, so you’ll always know how many points you need to overtake the team ahead of you. Which is exactly where the fun starts.
