What Is the VPT MVP Ranking

The MVP Ranking is a festival-wide leaderboard that runs alongside every Vamos Poker Tour stop throughout the 2026 season. At the conclusion of each festival, the players who accumulated the most points across all eligible tournaments are rewarded with entries to the next VPT festival — in this case, VPT Bucharest (March 16–22, 2026).

For the VPT Rozvadov, the prizes are entirely added by the VPT organization on top of the regular prize pools, making the MVP Ranking a true bonus competition running in parallel with the main events.

All prizes are valid exclusively for VPT Bucharest or the next designated partner festival. They are non-refundable but transferable to another player, as long as the full prize is transferred in its entirety — it cannot be split between multiple players, and this new player dont have any other entry from the MVP Ranking.

How Does the Scoring System Work?

Points are calculated using the globally recognized GPI (Global Poker Index) formula, the same system used by professional poker circuits worldwide. The GPI scoring model takes into account three key factors that reward both skill and ambition:

The first factor is the buy-in level of each tournament. Higher buy-in events are assumed to attract more elite competition, so they award proportionally more points. The second factor is the total number of entries — the larger the field you conquer, the more points you receive, regardless of re-entries. The third factor is your final position within the money. Only ITM finishes award points, and the higher you climb, the bigger your point haul.

To be eligible for any MVP prize, a player must have participated in at least 3 eligible events during the festival. Points are only awarded in tournaments marked with a # symbol on the official VPT schedule — satellites do not count. The Ladies Event and Senior Event are also excluded from the ranking.
